The Determiner–Coming Soon!

I have a new fantasy series (also written with Jacob Kennedy) coming out soon. It’s called The Determiner and will be a six book series. It’s upper middle grade (think Harry Potter/Percy Jackson), but I’m betting it will appeal to fantasy/sci-fi readers of all ages.

We’ll be releasing it first on Kindle Vella. So if you’re a Vella reader, keep your eyes peeled. And once it’s complete in Vella, we’ll have the ebook and print books ready to go. We’re planning for this to happen in June!

Soon, I hope to be able to reveal the cover. For now, you can see my super talented daughter’s fan art (above) for a hint. (Isn’t it cool!?!)

A little about the first book.

Someone wants to kill Henry’s dad, and Henry will do anything to stop it. Even if that means keeping secrets. Big ones.

As the son of the president of the United States, thirteen-year-old Henry Miller knows his life isn’t typical. But when a mysterious assassin, known as the Ethereal, tries to kidnap Henry in a power play against the president, Henry uncovers a strange ability: he speeds up as the world slows down–his short, stout body faster than ever before. However, unless Henry can learn to call upon this power at will, he’ll always be just another politician’s kid–ignored, overshadowed–as lost and useless as usual.

Until an unlikely source reveals a piece of information about the Ethereal’s next assassination plot, along with information about who might be hiding beneath the mask. Now Henry and his friend Lucy have to navigate their way through ghost sightings, White House secrets, and Henry’s on-again-off-again power in order to uncover the true identity of the Ethereal. Before it’s too late.

However, the closer Henry gets to finding the assassin, the more he begins to wonder if it’s really the president at stake. Or is Henry’s dad just a pawn in a chess game where they need to find the king?

This sci-fantasy series has been YEARS in the making, and I hope you love it!
